Farragut track coach Arron Prather named Florida Dairy Farmers 1A Girls Track Coach of the Year
Congratulations to Coach Arron Prather, Admiral Farragut Academy’s head track coach since 2016 and weight lifting instructor, for winning the Florida Dairy Farmers 1A Girls Track Coach of the Year 2021.
The Florida Dairy Farmers Sports Awards program exemplifies Florida Dairy Farmers’ commitment to the state’s youth. This is the 29th year of these unique awards to honor the state’s top athletes and coaches in all 30 sanctioned FHSAA sports.
Coach Prather has a history of developing student-athletes on the track at Admiral Farragut Academy.
He’s assisted multiple students in earning track offers to Ivy League and top-rated universities, such as Princeton, Stanford, Amherst, and Duke. He also helped the first female and African-American from Farragut to get a full scholarship to West Point Prep in 2019 and the first African-American male to get a full scholarship to West Point Prep in 2021.
During the 2021 season, Coach Prather led the Farragut BlueJacket Girls Track Team to win the FHSAA 1A Track and Field 2021 STATE Championship, along with student-athlete Tytiana Wilson ’21 winning STATES in the 400-meter dash. This marks a monumental milestone as the Girls Track Team’s second time winning STATES in program history.
Other accolades include both the Boys and Girls Track Teams winning the FHSAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP under Coach Prather’s leadership.
During the 2016 season, he led the Farragut’s BlueJacket Boys Track Team to win the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
