Track student-athlete Tytiana Wilson ’21 chosen as Bay News 9 Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Admiral Farragut Academy BlueJacket track student-athlete Tytiana Wilson ’21 for being selected as the Spectrum Bay News 9 Athlete of the Week!
Tytiana first started running track when she was 12. ”I tried a lot of sports when I was younger,” said Tytiana during her Bay News 9 interview.
“I used to dance, I used to do piano, but for some reason, I just loved running.”
She also loved to race her dad, and he was her encouragement to try track. She tried it, and she liked it.
During her senior year, Tytiana won the FHSAA State Championship in the 400-Meter Dash, which helped the Girls Track Team become the overall 1A STATE CHAMPIONS. She also ran in the 4×400 Relay consisting of Tytiana, Kelis Sims, Denia Averette, and Tekoyia Cheedy, who finished 2nd, giving the team enough points to win.
Tytiana will continue to run track collegiately this fall with a track scholarship at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN.
