What Students & Alumni Say…
Such a wonderful environment, a lifetime experience you’ll never forget.
It was the best four years of my life! I learned from some of the most amazing people. Thank you AFA for teaching me things I’m sure I would’ve never learned anywhere else. It molds young ones into respectful, diligent, self controlled individuals. Such a wonderful environment, a lifetime experience you’ll never forget. I still talk about when I attended there and I now have 2 kids. They were family and remain close to my heart to this day. I speak with such high respect for the people and the curriculum, and the overall time spent there. Thank you Admiral Farragut Academy.

I learned a lot, both educationally and more importantly, socially!
I learned a lot, both educationally and more importantly, socially! Great times, all 5 years. Of course, things didn’t get interesting until rank had been bestowed upon me, unfortunately not until my junior year. Those last two years though, wouldn’t trade them for all the tea in China!

Farragut and the people here have transformed us...
Farragut and the people here have transformed us into a class of artists, incredible athletes, licensed pilots, award-winning writers, slightly annoying math enthusiasts, and the most skillful leaders I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting.
Sasha DeSilva ’16 in her Valedictorian speech
My Farragut education was the single most important thing in my formative years.
Students learn teamwork, discipline and respect, just to start. All values that will carry them well above the ‘crowd’ as they go through life. My Farragut education was the single most important thing in my formative years. I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Farragut is a place where leaders are made and strengthened.
Farragut is a place where leaders are made and strengthened. All the leadership opportunities I’ve undertaken are because of me being here.

It is a place where if you want to be pushed to your potential, you can make incredible strides.
I learned the sense of community, the balance between a rigid setting and a place of togetherness. It is a place where if you want to be pushed to your potential, you can make incredible strides.

The faculty and staff at Farragut taught us how to think and respect others.
The faculty and staff at Farragut taught us how to think and respect others. That you are responsible for what you say and do. Most importantly we learned to judge someone by their character and actions not by the color of their skin, language they speak or their possessions.

What Parents Say…
I couldn’t imagine my kids going to another school.
In public school my oldest daughter got in trouble all of the time for talking because she was bored. She was already reading in Kindergarten so the teachers didn’t know what to do with her, they had other kids they had to get to pass a state mandated test. Once we came to Farragut in 1st grade, the curriculum was challenging and engaging. She still got in trouble for talking, but it was quickly handled by the teacher and us. Now (10th grade) she is a straight A student, on the volleyball, wrestling, and softball team, in book and poetry club, and performs in the talent shows and in plays. What other school can you do all of that? My youngest daughter came to this school at 3 1/2 years old. She is currently in 5th grade. She is my social butterfly/drama queen. She knows everyone on campus from PreK-12th grade (students and staff) because it is a family atmosphere. At times, she struggles with school academically but her teachers work with us at every angle. She reads extra with the librarians, she gets after school tutoring from the Chinese teacher, she works extra with the speech/language specialist. She has difficulties in school but is happy, nonetheless, because she knows that the teachers care and want the best for her. No one makes her feel dumb or incapable. On top of all of her tutoring, my daughter is in drama and sports. What other school can provide that?

I am thrilled my son has this amazing opportunity!
My son is new to Admiral Farragut Academy this year in 8th grade: “Upper School”. He loves AFA! I appreciate the discipline, respect, expectations, academic and athletic opportunities he is experiencing in this incredible environment! Everyone – the administration, teachers, coaches, parents, students – are all committed to helping students reach their full potential at AFA and in life. I am thrilled my son has this amazing opportunity!

This school is not only a learning environment, but also has a family atmosphere. It’s the environment you want your kids growing up in, from PreK all the way to their Senior year.

I am so pleased with the well-rounded, confident man Farragut helped my son become.
I am so pleased with the well-rounded, confident man Farragut helped my son become. As a boarder, he learned to be self-sufficient, prepared for college, and his participation in the Aviation Program was a real confidence booster. He earned his Private Pilot’s License, flew me up in a glider, and even began working on his powered flight license all before graduating high school!

Fantastic school!
Fantastic school! PROUD to say my Daughter will be graduating this year. She has excelled in a tremendous way since she started there 2 years ago. Wonderful school and experience!

My children have been in the lower school for 4 years. We could not be happier.
My children have been in the lower school for 4 years. We could not be happier. Every morning you can find the head of lower school (always with a smile on her face) out in the car line getting the children out of their cars. She is very approachable and the students love her. The leadership and current educational trends that she brings to her school shows. My daughter is competing in Odyssey of the Minds, was in Engineering Robotics, attends the Starfish Program, is going on a 3 day/2 night field trip to St. Augustine, etc. There are not many schools that offer this plus in a small class size setting.

My child has grown & blossomed at AFA.
My child has grown & blossomed at AFA. AFA provides a genuine, supportive, hands-on, diverse, high-quality learning environment. My only regret is that we didn’t transfer to AFA years ago.

I am very happy to report that my daughter is ELATED about being an Admiral Farragut student.
I am very happy to report that my daughter is ELATED about being an Admiral Farragut student. She was telling me today (as I was buying more “decorations” for her uniform) about all of the great activities she will be participating in this year and all of the other stuff that she wants to do this year but can’t seem to fit in. I had to remind her that this is only year one and that she has three more years to fit all of that in. She speaks very highly of the school, faculty and staff and has made a number of friends in such a short time. It seems like she knows everybody and everybody knows her. She is absolutely thrilled to be at Farragut. Thank you to all of you for making this such a smooth and easy transition for her as she was definitely nervous about starting a new school and high school at that. So thank you!!!!! It’s going to be so exciting to watch her grow.

AFA is by far the best.
My son has tried Montessori, public, and Christian private school but AFA is by far the best. Teachers and staff are available to the cadets before and after school. During the night, teachers are on the grounds to tutor the boarders in the evenings. There were 11 service academy appointments for college this year and even one graduate going to Harvard. Disruptive children are handled without prejudice with a merit/demerit system which works. Staff are available 24/7 to students and parents. I have been looking for 6 years and it is worth every penny for my son to be able to attend school for which it is intended – to learn.

We love it!
I have experienced both the Lower and Upper Divisions and I am so happy that my children are in an environment of respect and accountability. Our society has lost this and it is harder and harder to find, but not at AFA. The class sizes are small and the teachers are not only caring but teach ‘outside the box’ to instill a love of learning. I don’t know of another school where the kids have access to amenities like waterfront, touch tank, swimming pool, 16,000 volume library and full service dining hall all on 35 beautiful acres in sunny Florida. We love it!
