Mark Panuthos selected by the Madeira Beach VFW Post as its Teacher of the Year
Congratulations goes out to Mark Panuthos, who was selected by the Madeira Beach VFW Post 4256 as its Teacher of the Year. Mr. Panuthos, who teaches AP U.S. History, AP Microeconomics, Intro to Economics, and American Government, was also selected as the District Winner. The Smart/Maher National Citizenship Education Teacher Award annually recognizes the nation’s top classroom teachers who teach citizenship education topics regularly and promote America’s history and traditions effectively.
Head of Upper School, CDR Shannon Graves nominated Mr. Panuthos back in November and this Thursday Panuthos was informed by Graves and CDR Ronald Mills of VFW Post 4256 about his selection.
“I am honored to have been nominated by CDR Graves,” said Mr. Panuthos, who has taught at Farragut since 1996. “We have the best teachers here at Farragut and my nomination means a great deal to me. I am further honored to have had my nomination validated by an organization as prestigious as the VFW. I am looking forward to the awards ceremony and I’m looking forward to building a relationship with the VFW.”
Mr. Panuthos will be presented his award and recognized on April 16th at the annual awards ceremony at the VFW Post 4256.
