Aviation student Trevor Eoriatti ’19 earns his solo flight endorsement
Please join the Aviation Department in congratulating Trevor Eoriatti ‘19 on earning his solo endorsement. Trevor flew solo at Albert Whitted for the first time on November 8, 2018, in a Cessna 172, tail number N54058.
Trevor has been in aviation classes since he started at Farragut in January 2018.
“I’ve always loved planes,” he says. “I really want to be a commercial pilot. It’s a career I want to explore.”
There were some nerves during Trevor’s flight, but they didn’t last long. “I was nervous, but I was good once I got it done,” he said. “First I did one landing and takeoff with an instructor, then he got out of the plane and I did three takeoff and landings by myself. The last one was tricky because I had a tailwind, but I handled it well.”
Trevor i7-day day boarder from West Des Moines, Iowa. “It’s cool when I get to land at the St. Pete/Clearwater International Airport (PIE) because that’s the airport I use to go home,” he said. “You’re landing and there’s a big Allegiant jet right there and here I am in a little plane and they’re waiting for me to land. It’s a cool experience.”
In addition to aviation, Trevor plays baseball for Farragut and he took drone classes over the summer during the Summer@Farragut summer camp. He is planning on majoring in aeronautical science at either Jacksonville University or the University of Debuque in Iowa.
“I love the view,” he said. “When you’re flying, the landscape that you see is just beautiful. It’s very peaceful.”
