The AFA Wrestling Team competed at the Class 1A district championships at Sarasota Booker High School this past weekend. Eight Bluejackets competed, with five wrestlers placing in the top three, qualifying for the regional championships this weekend at Bradenton Southeast High School. Read more
On Thursday, February 2nd 6th and 7th grade headed to Florida’s capital, Tallahassee, for an overnight field trip. The two-day field trip was packed with educational fun. “The students learned all kinds of things, from history to government to personal responsibility,” said lower school math teacher Larisa Levin who coordinated the field trip.
Giving back is a deeply-held value at Admiral Farragut Academy. All students are required to complete a minimum of 80 hours of community service to graduate, but most complete far more than that. While there are many ways that Farragut students choose to give back to their communities, one traditional event that the drill team and football team love to take part in is a game day event at Nina Harris Center for Exceptional Children.

The Admiral’s Athletics Club held its 2nd Annual Poker Run on Saturday, February 11th in downtown St. Petersburg. The event was the inspiration of parents Joey Sokolowski and Mary Rice. Last year was the inaugural event to support our sports through the Admiral’s Athletics Club and all participants of the sell-out event agreed this needed to be an annual event.Read more
While the wrestling team had the weekend off in preparation for the District Tournament, Angela LoRuss0 ’19 traveled to Liberty High School in Kissimmee, FL to compete in the 2017 Florida Girls State Championships. Read more
It was another huge turnout for the Lower School’s “Moms Hold The Key To Our Hearts” event. More than 100 moms, grandmas, and special adults filled both the Mess Hall and the West Lounge for the chance to spend a special morning with their kids.
Recently, Mr. Xenakis’ 20th Century History Honors class took a guided tour of the Armed Forces Museum in Largo, Florida. The class visited the museum after being made aware that it would close on January 29, 2017. Read more
