Thank you to those that helped at our Annual Earth Day Cleanup at Clam Bayou and for science teacher Sari Deitche for organizing! In our three years of sponsoring the event, we had our biggest turnout yet. Over 60 student and parent volunteers picked up trash, filling a 300-gallon can full of plastic, styrofoam, wood, glass and cigarette butts, among other debris. We also cleaned out dead and dying wood and palm tree fronds. And we planted over 200 mangrove seedlings. All this was completed in less than 2 hours!

This was a collaborative effort between the Parents’ Group Executive Board, Farragut staff, volunteers, and hired-vendors. We cannot thank you enough for everyone involved in the planning and execution of this fundraising event, and for those who attended and participated in the auction to support the school. Read more
