On May 8th, Space For A Better World with ZeroG Corp launched an incredible new experience called the ZERO-G Experience from the historic shuttle runway at the Kennedy Space Center on the eastern coast of Florida. In attendance were Apollo 16 astronaut, moonwalker, and Farragut alumnus Charlie Duke ‘53S, Farragut parent and fellow retired NASA astronaut Nicole Stott, and her son, Roman Stott ‘21.
Admiral Farragut Academy’s Upper School Naval Science Program has received the Distinguished Unit Award (DUA) with Academic Honors for the 2020-2021 school year. The Distinguished Unit Award is given to an NJROTC unit from their respective area headquarters.
On Thursday, May 20, 2021, the Lower School held two assemblies to give awards to the upper grades: an informal Awards Ceremony for the 5th and 6th grades, and a formal 7th Grade Moving Up Ceremony. Congratulations to all of our students who earned awards, and best wishes to our 7th graders as they move into Upper School.

Admiral Farragut Academy student-athletes, Maeve Case ’22 and Riley Lancaster ’26, took their wrestling to a national stage this past weekend.
Both ladies traveled to Irving, Texas, to compete in the 2021 Women’s Wrestling National Championships. The girls were accompanied and coached by Farragut BlueJackets Wrestling Coach Tony LoRusso and his daughter and Farragut alumnus Angela LoRusso ’19, a current women’s wrestler at Adrian College.
The boys and girls teams exceeded expectations by finishing higher than what they were seeded going into States and competed in the Florida High School Athletic Association State Championship on May 7th at the University of North Florida. Congratulations to the Girls Track Team, 1A STATE CHAMPIONS. Tytiana Wilson ’21 also won a State Championship in the 400-Meter Dash. Ronald White ’21, State Runner-Up in the 110-meter hurdles, and Maurice Leon ’21, 3rd place in the Discus.
Please join the Aviation Department in congratulating Spencer Salzberg on earning his private pilot certificate. Spencer passed his private pilot practical test on Saturday, May 1, 2021, in a Cessna 172 aircraft at Albert Whitted Airport with FAA-designated pilot examiner Toby Blanton.
On Monday, May 10th, the National Honor Society of Admiral Farragut Academy inducted 27 new members; 8 Juniors and 19 Sophomores. The ceremony was held in DeSeta Hall. Selection to the National Honor Society is determined by Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Please join us in congratulating the newly inducted members.
