Lower School makes soldiers’ day with stocking drive
The holidays are a time of family and peace for most of us, but for our troops it can be a sad time. Admiral Farragut Academy’s Lower School students set out to change that for a lucky group of service members.
During the month of November, the Lower School students collected items to make stockings for the service members that share a building with the father of seventh grader Tyler Turner. Tyler’s dad, Lt. Col. Turner, is currently stationed in Kuwait.
Lower School sent 30 stockings to these service members, stuffed with cards, candy, snacks, and hygiene items. The leftover donations were contributed to a similar stocking drive in the Upper School.
All students who brought in a donation were allowed to wear jeans on Dec. 2.
