Students fundraise for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Starting in February, the Lower School Student Government Association (SGA) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) worked together to collect money for Student Series, formerly known as Pasta for Pennies with all proceeds going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The Lower School raised a total of $2,592.17.
PreK was in the lead the entire way, but a donation of $500 from the Fisher family sent 5th grade straight to number 1 with an overall “weight” of 655 lbs. Congratulations to Mrs. Rowe and the 5th grade class! 5th grade won a pasta party from Olive Garden and a gold banner as a thank you from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
“I would like to thank you all for your efforts,” said Mrs. Rowe. “I know fundraisers are extra work, and everyone has really done their part! I am so impressed with and proud of the generosity of our students.”
Classes with $100 earned will receive a bronze banner, $200 a silver banner, and $300 a gold banner.
Special thank you to Mrs. Fowler for organizing the fundraiser.
