Please join the Aviation department in congratulating Matt Hajek on earning his solo endorsement. Matt flew solo for the first time on October 18th at Albert Whitted Airport in a Cessna 172SP, N6013J, on runway 7. Matt received his solo endorsement from St. Pete Air Chief Flight instructor Peter Flynn, who is pictured in the photos with Matt. Coincidentally, Mr. Flynn also endorsed Matt’s brother Michael for his first solo flight.
On September 30, Zach Fine ‘17 and Victoria Padovan ‘17 were two of 15 local students from eight St. Petersburg area public and private high schools that were selected for the 78th Annual Rotary Club Outstanding Youth Awards, an honor that distinguishes high school seniors who go above and beyond their duty to the community. Throughout the week of May 1 – a day celebrated throughout the northern hemisphere for the coming of spring as May Day, Admiral Farragut Academy took center stage in print, digital and audio media – and throughout the state of Florida – as students from many different backgrounds told the story of Farragut in different ways. A voracious reader amongst a bevy of readers in her family, Kollyne’s love for literature helped mold her into her current status as a meticulous writer.
