Mrs. Sari Deitche, who has been teaching at Admiral Farragut Academy since 2002, has earned the Florida Association for Water Quality Control (FAWQC) E2 Fund grant for the eleventh year in a row. Mrs. Deitche received her check of $971.38 in front of students on Monday, December 9th. Read more

Each year, our teachers have the opportunity to enter a contest to win the Barrett Family Foundation Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teacher Award which is a $10,000 tax-free cash gift. The winners are selected based on recommendation letters from the school head, a colleague, a student, their resume and personal letter, and a 3-5 minute video. Read more

On December 11, 2018, the head of Farragut’s science department and biology teacher Sari Deitche was given a $995 Environmental Education grant by the Florida Association for Water Quality Control (FAWQC). This is the tenth year in a row that Mrs. Deitche has been awarded this grant.
Over the summer, Farragut students Jared Ariza, Justin Ariza, and Erik Sokolowski, all class of 2020, and Dylan Miksch ‘19 represented Admiral Farragut Academy at The 2018 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment (WYSE) in Washington, D.C. It was a notable achievement and all four boys represented AFA admirably. Read more

On Thursday, January 25th, Science Department Chair and Upper School Marine Science and Biology teacher Sari Deitche, along with 4th-7th Grade Science & Marine Science teacher Henry Sadler, took a group of eight students from the Upper and Lower Schools to the Regional Ocean Conference for Students (ROCS) Conference at the Florida Aquarium.

With a fantastic team effort and a great partnership with the Parents’ Group, Science Department, and USF-College of Marine Science, Admiral Farragut Academy held a school-wide Earth Day Clean-up at The Clam Bayou Preserve, a 10-acre park in Gulfport.
