New Head of Lower School Introduction
July 8, 2022
Dear Admiral Farragut Academy Lower School Community,
It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Head of Lower School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this renowned school with engaged students, dedicated staff, and supportive families. You should know that I arrive at Admiral Farragut as a seasoned educator.
Among my many roles , I was the principal of a high performing, high growth elementary school (PK- Grade 5) in Ridgefield, Connecticut for more than twelve years. I was also the principal of a high performing, high growth upper elementary school (Grades 4-6) in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. After a few years with Pinellas County Schools, I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to Admiral Farragut Academy and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child(ren)’s growth. On a personal note, I come from a family of educators including my husband who is a retired high school principal. We cherish our home in Dunedin where I love to read, travel, spend time with family, and be outdoors.
Although we will be sending home another letter in a few weeks with more specific information and dates for important events for the 2022-2023 school year, our office wanted to give you a head’s start on some summer planning items. It is very important that you read our school handbook with your child in order to understand the expectations for our Admiral Farragut community.
Click here for the link for our grade level supplies list in preparation for the tax free shopping week in July. Please purchase these items and be prepared to bring them to the upcoming Meet the Teacher event- date/time- TBD.
It is an honor to serve a school community where we have been developing leaders since 1933. In closing, please know that I welcome your constructive feedback and perspective throughout the year. You can contact me directly at rpembrook@farragut.org I am looking forward to meeting and greeting you and your children soon. Enjoy the magic of summer.
Sincerely,
Ms. Rebecca Pembrook
Head of Lower School
