All students in 9th-12th grade have the opportunity to take Scuba as an elective. During their course curriculum, they will learn the physics, physiology, and decompression theories to become safe, knowledgeable scuba divers.

All Scuba certifications earned with Admiral Farragut Academy are honored internationally and can be carried for a lifetime.
Scuba Basic Diver Course
During the Basic Diver Course, the curriculum is divided into three courses, each lasting for one semester. Students will learn the physics, physiology, and decompression theories to become safe, knowledgeable scuba divers. The cost is $1,100 for the following three certifications:
- Open Water Diver
- First Aid/CPR
- Advanced Diver
Scuba Master Diver Course
During the Master Diver Course, the curriculum is divided into three courses, each lasting for one semester. Students become proficient in several specialty areas including night/low visibility diving, equipment repair, underwater ecology, and underwater mapping and navigation. The cost is $600 for the following certifications included in this course level.
- Rescue Diver
- Master Diver
Scuba Divemaster Course
During the Divemaster Course, students are ready to assist in training divers for certification during basic or master diver courses. They follow the scuba instructor and learn professional leadership skills in scuba. The cost is $500 for this course.
Other Scuba Opportunities
- Cavern Certifications are available on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Scuba Instructor for details.
- Scuba Club is offered for those who are certified but are not enrolled in the curriculum.
- Certifications look good on college applications.
