Upper School students compete at annual Florida statewide Chinese competition
Over two days, January 31 and February 1, Upper School Mandarin Chinese teacher Mrs. Rue took ten students from Chinese I, Chinese II, and Chinese IV to participate in the Florida Chinese Teachers Association (FCTA) 15th Annual Florida Statewide Chinese Competition (FSCC) at the Lake Yale Conference Center.
Our upper school division and middle school division (8th grade) both received 2nd place in the Jeopardy game. The competition consisted of three sections: 1. Listening 2. Speaking 3. Reading & Writing. The students’ results do not earn an exact number score, but they are placed into categories based on their performance. The categories are as follows:
- 90-100 Superior
- 80-90 Outstanding
- 70-80 Excellent
- 60-70 Good
- below 60 Not mentioned
