In Mrs. Lynch’s science class, 2nd grade learned about the different types of energy. They discussed thermal energy and constructed solar powered ovens. In each oven, students were able to even cook s’mores!
Marilyn Reynolds has been a teacher in the Lower School since 2011 and has ties to MacDill Air Force Base through her husband Roy’s role as the Business Financial Manager for Special Operations Forces (SOF) there. She was able to work with Roy to start a tradition for the summer camp she runs here called “Little Captains” by bringing SOF soldiers to campus for a demonstration. The demonstration was a part of a community outreach program of the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) which is intended to strengthen its ties within the community. Read more
