Over the summer, Farragut students Jared Ariza, Justin Ariza, and Erik Sokolowski, all class of 2020, and Dylan Miksch ‘19 represented Admiral Farragut Academy at The 2018 Washington Youth Summit on the Environment (WYSE) in Washington, D.C. On Thursday, May 8, Lower School Science teacher Henry Sadler took his 6th-grade Life Science classes on a field trip to the Peace River in Arcadia, FL, as an extension on their unit on fossils.
On Thursday, January 25th, Science Department Chair and Upper School Marine Science and Biology teacher Sari Deitche, along with 4th-7th Grade Science & Marine Science teacher Henry Sadler, took a group of eight students from the Upper and Lower Schools to the Regional Ocean Conference for Students (ROCS) Conference at the Florida Aquarium.
On Friday, January 19th 5th-grade students spent the day at Enterprise Village by the Stavros Institute. Enterprise Village is a self-contained economic education program that provides a hands-on learning experience unlike any other. Read more

On Marther Luther King Day, Monday, January 15th, Admiral Farragut Academy took us, the boarding cadets, to Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL. The Kennedy Space Center is one of ten National Aeronautics and Space Administration field centers where astronauts are trained and spacecrafts are launched. There, we were given the opportunity to train like astronauts and learn about space in a very unique way.
The Advanced Placement United States History (APUSH) class at Admiral Farragut Academy recently attended their 10th annual Cannon School at the National Park Service Headquarters in St. Augustine, FL.
Over Spring Break, Upper School Spanish teacher, Cesar Robalino, and Commandant Office Assistant, Beverly Gonczar, took a group of students on a trip to Spain and France. Miss Beverly wrote an account of their trip, which included stops in Barcelona, Madrid, Provence, and Paris.
Ten students, who take Mandarin Chinese with Mrs. Rue, competed at the 12th Annual Florida Statewide Chinese Competition (FSCC). This year the competition was held on February 10th and 11th 2017 at St. Andrew’s School in Boca Raton.
On February 17th, three 7th grade students attended the Model United Nations Conference in Tallahassee as part of a club sponsored by Mrs. Rowe, social studies teacher, and Mrs. Morris, librarian. Read more
