On Monday, May 8th, the Farragut community including students and their parents, alumni, faculty, and staff paid tribute to the 40+ years of Coach Nick and his dedication to Admiral Farragut Academy.
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Mike Nicholson at the end of this year. Mike came to Admiral Farragut Academy in 1979 and has impacted thousands of young people over his teaching, coaching and residential career. The consummate educator who, daily, displayed his love of teaching with enthusiasm and interest. Read more
April 1st marked the 25th anniversary of Farragut’s Aviation Director Rob Ewing’s first solo flight and marked the 50th anniversary of our former Director of Naval Science, and now Development Officer, CAPT Tom McClelland receiving his Naval Aviator wings.
“Aviation is a family,” said Rob Ewing, Aviation instructor for Admiral Farragut Academy. “It’s a community, and anybody that you talk to remembers the first time they got in the air.”

Rob Ewing, the founder and director of the Aviation Academy at Farragut, was honored Monday with the Barrett Family Foundation’s Excellence in Science/Mathematics Teacher Award. Ewing was one of six recipients from the Tampa Bay region honored.
Rob Ewing, the director of the Aviation program at Farragut, was featured in the fall edition of Lift, the alumni magazine of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Ewing, who graduated from the Daytona Beach campus in 1994, was honored by Embry-Riddle with the 2015 Alumni Service Award for his work at Farragut. Read more
Prekindergarten teacher, Marilyn Reynolds, was featured in the April edition of Tampa Bay Parenting magazine as one of the Extraordinary Women of Tampa Bay. She is an incredible teacher that puts her all into the education of her students and communications with parents. We are so proud that she was featured, and blessed to have her at Admiral Farragut Academy.
