- This is an opportunity for students to meet their teacher Meet the Teacher, become familiar with the classroom, and relieve some of the “first-day” jitters.
- Orientation is separated by grades Kindergarten-4th and 5th-7th and typically held the week before the first day of school.
- An informational meeting for each group to review expectations, curriculum and other information pertinent to the class.
- At this time if you have any additional paperwork due, please turn it in.

- Please plan to arrive on the move-in date. Housing is not provided prior to the day of check-in.

What is the daily schedule for students?
Each student’s individual class schedule is posted online through FOCUS in August.

What about mobile devices, iPads, books and supplies? When do we have to order textbooks?
What about mobile devices, iPads, books, and supplies?
Farragut gives students the option of bringing a Chromebook (prefer only Chromebooks) to class and downloading textbooks to their browsers. As education continues to adapt with technology, Farragut continues to meet those demands. Some grades will still require ordering used or new books from the MBS Direct Book Store. The website will show the specific class requirements and the ISBN number of the book(s) being used in the class.
More information about books and supplies will either be answered by the specific teacher, will be in the school’s handbook, or instructions will be emailed to parents.
When do we have to order textbooks?
Lower School students are encouraged to order their books prior to starting school.
Upper School students are encouraged to order their books after the first week of school and once they are certain they will not be switching classes.
Does the school offer tutorials?
Classroom tutorials begin 30 minutes (7:30 a.m.) before the academic day begins.
Is there extra academic support?
One of the strengths of Farragut is a wealth of programs, services, systems, and, most importantly, people who are focused on every student’s success.
The Center for Academic Success, located in the Roy M. Speer Student Center, encourages students to use their learning strengths and styles to become successful and confident lifelong learners. There are a number of different personalized services offered as well.
Upper School students are encouraged to take advantage of our FREE morning tutorial from 7:30-7:55 a.m. in each classroom when school is in session.
What about grades and report cards?
Report cards are posted in FOCUS, the student and parent information system. Parents are notified via email when grades and comments have been posted.
- Upper School operates on a semester system, and students receive report cards two times each semester.
- Lower School (Kindergarten-7th) operates on a quarter system and students receive report cards four times during the academic year. PreK students receive a Progress Report in December and May.
How do I purchase uniforms?
Lower School parents can visit the Anchor Campus Store.
Upper School students/parents should contact Naval Science for the NSU uniform at navalscience@farragut.org.
How do I get involved as a parent?
All parents of enrolled Admiral Farragut Academy students are asked to volunteer and support the Farragut Family Association. The rewards of being involved are multi-faceted; getting to know your child’s school staff and friends, meeting other parents, spending time with your child in their school environment, and observing your child among his or her peers.
If you are a boarding parent, you can help by reaching out to contacts or other businesses you frequent for donations. Items may include gift cards to chain or local St. Pete restaurants, salons, breweries, gyms, and family fun activities or events, as well as wine and top-shelf liquor. In addition, you may also donate towards the live paddle raise online.
