Mother and Son, Fun Under the Sun event at the waterfront
On Saturday, April 29, the Parents’ Group held their first Mother and Son, Fun Under the Sun event at the waterfront. It was a beautiful sunny day with a nice breeze where 75 mothers, aunts and grandmothers came out for a day of fun activities and food with the Lower School boys.
Participants enjoyed games including water balloon toss, Mom vs Son tug-o-war, ‘Jedi-Ball’, corn hole toss, lawn tic tac toe, water frisbee, squirt guns, and bubbles to name a few. The boys were also able to use cast nets and dip nets in the water.
A cookout style lunch was served with food donated by Mark and Lanie Salebra. And the boys enjoyed a cool treat with the snow cone machine for the day!
The Parents’ Group wishes to thank all of the hard-working parent and cadet volunteers, Mark and Lanie Salebra, Linda Derk, the Admiral’s Athletic Club, Dennis Collins, Tony Pemble, and the entire maintenance team for making this day a memorable event!
The Parents’ Group donated the nets used that day to the Marine Science department and miscellaneous toys and games to the Little Captains Summer Camp at Admiral Farragut Academy.
