Biography
Ms. Hocker has been a teacher for over 26 years. Her experience includes all grades K to 12. She has taught in 11 schools located in 7 states and two foreign countries – Guam and Italy. She has taught several subjects including PE, Health, English, Drawing, Painting, 3D Art, Photography, Computer Arts, Yearbook, and Art Portfolio.
Growing up as a military child and then having married a military husband, Ms. Hocker has developed a keen sense of adventure and a passion for travel. The constant relocation due to her husband’s career has been an asset to her flexibility and vast range of experience. Her most recent overseas position was at an International School in Rome where she was the Art and Computer Arts teacher in the high school. She loves to read, travel, exercise, and teach. She is passionate about life and can’t wait to join the team at Admiral Farragut for the upcoming year!
Fun Fact: Valerie has six grown children and, as of this 2018 summer, eight grandchildren.
