About
This is Mrs. Deitche’s 18th year teaching at Admiral Farragut Academy. Before AFA, she was a Marine Scientist at Tampa BayWatch for almost seven years. While at Farragut she has taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, as well as High School sciences that include Life, Earth and Marine sciences and Biology.
Ever since she was seven years old, Mrs. Deitche knew she wanted to be a Marine Scientist. She even had the opportunity to work with dolphins, discovering that while her dream was coming true, she didn’t want to work with dolphins in captivity, but instead teach others about these majestic mammals and the environment in which they live. She was the Earth Force Sponsor for years and is currently the FL Teen SciCafe Supervisor.
Although she is originally from Chicago (and she loves “Da Bears!” and is still rootin’ for those Cubbies), she has called St. Petersburg home for a very long time. Her husband is also a Marine Scientist and they have two daughters who also attend Farragut. They love to frequent the beaches or fish when they have the time.
