Biography
Ms. Blake is originally from Connecticut and has been a certified science teacher since 2011. Her undergraduate career began at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, where she studied Oceanography and was a recruited swimmer for the Division 1 Women’s Swimming and Diving Team. After two years she transferred to the University of Tampa, and completed her undergraduate degree with a BS in Marine Science & Biology. During that time she also got certified as a SCUBA diver through PADI, and worked her way up to Divemaster.
Her background is in marine science, first starting out as fisheries research biologist for the FL Marine Research Institute here in St. Pete, and then landed her dream job working with Bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions at Dolphins Plus, Inc. in Key Largo. After working with dolphins, she entered the veterinarian technician field and provided assistance to horses, cattle, farm stock, and then small domestics and exotics before she became a teacher.
