Biography
Kate Dubickas grew up living on Air Force bases until landing on the Gulf Coast in Ocean Springs, MS, which she now considers her hometown. She has worked and volunteered in ocean sciences since 2009. Her involvements include husbandry activities, fisheries research, developing marine science in-class curricula, and SCUBA-based underwater dive labs, and mentoring student projects. She holds Bachelor degrees in Marine Science and Environmental Studies from Stony Brook University, and both a Master’s of Science and a graduate teaching certificate from the University of South Florida’s College of Marine Science. She has had experience working in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, as well as the Gulf of Mexico. Dubickas’ involvements are strongly linked to her passion for youth education in ocean sciences and environmental stewardship.
