Basketball is a part of him and coaching allowed him to stay involved in the game. Julian used his position as basketball coach to mentor kids in the inner city of Baltimore.

He developed his own AAU Basketball Organization entitled Liberty D.R.E.A.M. The acronym DREAM means Dedicated to Reaching Early Aged Males. The program has grown tremendously over the past five years. It houses teams of children from ages six to eighteen.  Liberty D.R.E.A.M has given young men in the inner city opportunity to travel and see things outside of Baltimore City, while teaching them to respect themselves and others.

Coach Allen, has also had great success coaching on the Middle and High School levels. Julian started his school coaching career at Friends School of Baltimore; where he was the Head Coach of the C team, leading them to an Undefeated Season.
