Biography

Entering his fourth year of teaching at Admiral Farragut, Mr. Barnes is teaching Geography, Geography Honors, and AP Human Geography.

He is also excited to begin a new basketball season and looks to capitalize on a basketball program with many returning students as well as a few new faces. Aside from coaching, Barnes also professionally trained basketball players in central Florida at Pat Burke’s HOOPS Training Facility in Mt. Dora, FL. Working alongside former NBA/Euroleague Champion Pat Burke, Barnes trained high school, college, and NBA athletes as well as being named Director of Strength and Conditioning for high school athletes in the area.

Dustin chose education because he had great teachers growing up who cared about him as an individual, not only as a student. He has been working around kids for years and enjoy helping others. He believes that each person he meets offers a new experience he can learn from.

During his free time, he enjoys going to the beach, camping, hiking, and fishing. He is also a die-hard Florida Gators fan and tries to go to as many games as possible. Go Gators!
