Over the weekend of January 30-31, 14 Admiral Farragut Academy Orienteering Team members traveled across the bay to Bradenton to compete in their first orienteering meet of the season at the Greenbrook Adventure Park in Bradenton. Our cadets were split equally between the novice yellow team and the intermediate orange team. The team enjoyed a double win with the orange team earning a 2nd place win and the yellow team earning a 3rd place win.

On Saturday, November 14th, 2020, Admiral Farragut Academy upper school students along with Residential Life TAC Mentor and Dockmaster Chief Dan Kuhl participated in the 24th annual American Legion’s Veterans Day Boat Parade in Madeira Beach, Florida. This was the second year our students appeared in the parade and they were involved in various ways to support this event. All proceeds from the parade went to support local veteran’s charities.

This year, Admiral Farragut Academy’s Naval Science instructors enhanced the Operational Risk Management portion of Farragut’s curriculum. Through a partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), 22 students in Naval Science II and III are being trained to become FEMA Teen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) certified.
