BlueJacket girls wrestling team competes at state tournament

Cadets Angela LoRusso ’19 and Madison Moore ’21 competed in the 2019 Florida Girls State Wrestling Tournament this weekend. This year’s girl’s state tournament was the toughest competition in its 8-year history with 275 girls from 94 schools competing. Girls wrestling has seen exponential growth in Florida the past few years with an estimated 700 girls registered this season. And girls wrestling continues to be the fastest growing high school sport nationally.

Farragut cadet earns prestigious General Norman H. Schwarzkopf Leadership Award

On February 11th Admiral Farragut Academy had an opportunity to recognize one of its top leaders during the morning formation. The Academy is pleased to announce that CLTJG Shyann Laporte ’20, an outstanding cadet, has been recognized as one of only five students to be chosen from among hundreds as a winner of the West Point Society of West Florida’s prestigious General Norman H. Schwarzkopf Leadership Award.

Luis Eraso ’19 earns private pilot certificate

Please join the Aviation department in congratulating Luis Eraso on earning his Private Pilot Certificate. Luis passed his Private pilot practical test on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Winter Haven airport. The examiner commented that it was the best Private Pilot check ride he had ever done.
