Update to parents from the headmaster 4/20/2020
Dear Farragut Families,
During these difficult times, I want to reach out and thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
As anticipated, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came out this weekend and officially closed all public and private schools and mandated schools continue distance learning for the remainder of the school year. Following suit, Admiral Farragut Academy will finish the academic year online.
This will go down as our quarter, and we will make sure it does not impact your child’s academic future in a negative way. The learning curve for the adults and students has been a challenge, but a good challenge. As the students move forward they will look back at this experience in a positive way.

Admissions is hosting Virtual Open House for prospective Upper/Boarding School families
We are pleased to announce that Admiral Farragut Academy will be hosting a Virtual Open House focused on Upper & Boarding School on:
Thursday, April 16, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. EST
-AND-
Saturday, April 18, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. EST.
Each session will cover the same content and should last an hour, plus additional time for Q&A.
THIS EVENT IS GREAT FOR
- All current AFA 7th grade students transitioning into Upper School and their families
- Any students who entered the Upper School for 2nd semester of the 2019-20 school year
- Prospective students entering 8th-12th grade and their families who are interested in day or boarding school

The Farragut Family Association is disappointed to announce that we will not be able to hold the 2020 Auction/Gala on April 4th as planned. We are actively working on rescheduling this important event. We will reach out to you when new information is available. Read more

Admiral Farragut Academy awarded $5,000 by The Outback Bowl
On March 4, 2020, for the second year in a row, Farragut parent and Outback Bowl Board Member Christopher Giblin presented a $5,000 check to the Farragut Fund to be used in support of teachers and students. Giblin is father to Farragut sixth-grader Christopher Giblin.
Farragut students advocate for change on Capitol Hill
Admiral Farragut Academy Upper School students, Jaeden Geffon ‘22 and Brandon Ortiz ‘21, traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the L’Taken Social Justice Seminar, a four-day Jewish public policy conference hosted by the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC). Nearly 2,000 high school students participate and this is Jaeden’s second year participating in the program and Brandon’s first year. While there, they visited Capitol Hill to advocate, as a unified voice, on issues of importance to our society today.
