Dear Farragut Families,
During these difficult times, I want to reach out and thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
As anticipated, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came out this weekend and officially closed all public and private schools and mandated schools continue distance learning for the remainder of the school year. Following suit, Admiral Farragut Academy will finish the academic year online.
This will go down as our COVID-19 quarter, and we will make sure it does not impact your child’s academic future in a negative way. The learning curve for the adults and students has been a challenge, but a good challenge. As the students move forward they will look back at this experience in a positive way.
Over the next few weeks we will be sending out information on a few different topics: Read more

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to expand globally, the supply chain for masks and face shields continues to be stressed. Lower School STEM Teacher Shannon LoRusso quickly found a way to help by using a 3D printer to print Montana Masks and Face Shields for hospital use. Before Admiral Farragut Academy closed, she took the 3D printer from the Lower School STEM Lab home and the school provided her materials such as the computer and numerous rolls of PLA filament.
Below are three videos from our division heads including Head of Lower School Anita Fine, Head of Upper School and Assistant Headmaster Dr. Tom McGlinn, and Director of Residential Life Pete Vaughn. We miss our students and hope that everyone is adapting to online learning, are safe and healthy, and have a great rest of the school year.
Special video message to parents from Headmaster Bob Fine regarding coronavirus challenges and online learning.
