BlueJackets football battle tough but fall to Clearwater Central Catholic
Playing in front of a home crowd, the BlueJackets, led by junior quarterback Keondrae Miller’s 110 rushing yards and two touchdowns, made things tough for No. 4-ranked (Class 3A) Clearwater Central Catholic on Friday night but, in the end, the Marauders were too much to handle as Admiral Farragut Academy suffered a 35-23 defeat.
Our very own Bradley Richardson, who handles the public address announcing duties for football and basketball contests, wrote a recap of the game that appeared in the Tampa Bay Times.
The BlueJackets (3-3, 1-0) will host No. 5-ranked (Class 2A) Northside Christian (7-1, 1-0) this Friday, October 28, at 7 p.m. to determine the winner of Class 2A, District 6. Both teams will advance to the region playoffs but the winner will be the champion of the district and host the first game of the postseason tournament. The game is both Senior Night and the Homecoming game.
