The Duke University TIP (Talent Identification Program) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving academically gifted and talented students. The Duke Talent Search was launched in 1994 with the goal of identifying gifted students at a younger age. Duke University TIP works with students, their families, and educators to discover, explore and celebrate students’ academic interests at a time when it is important to foster curiosity and build confidence.

Tennis court renovations complete; Parents’ Group meeting recap

The completion of the tennis court was the main emphasis at the most recent Parents’ Group meeting, which was held on Tuesday, October 4th. The replacement process began the first week of August and was completed and ready for use on September 29, 2016 after some delays due to the rain.

Swim team glides to top finishes in recent meets

County Commissioner visits senior class

With the November elections right around the corner, Upper School English teacher Heather Ewing invited Pinellas County Commissioner Charlie Justice to visit the members of the senior class to discuss the political process, namely the role of the county commission. While intended as a speech, the event turned into a question-and-answer session with several students asking upwards of 25 questions.

BlueJackets win Cross Country meet

Admiral Farragut won a Cross Country meet the BlueJackets hosted on October 3 at Walter Fuller Park in St. Petersburg, beating neighborhood rivals Canterbury, Keswick Christian, and Northside Christian.

Golf team advances to regionals

Student-superheroes surprise young Lower School students

Well, this past week, that’s exactly what happened as 17 Upper School cadets, dressed in Superhero garb for Spirit Week, visited the students in the Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade classes and read some of their favorite books to them.

It was cooking with Kat day on Wednesday in the Life Skills class of Lower School teacher Ms. Forrester, who will be teaching students this year about fundamental practices like cooking, first aid, carpentry, and time management in real-world scenarios.
